At Spencer Scissors we have always taken our clients’ privacy very seriously, and with GDPR coming into effect on 25th May, both Spencer and Amanda would like to take this opportunity to explain our privacy policy to our clients, what information we hold, how this information is stored and why this information is necessary.
We need to hold certain information to offer the services that we do. For clients who have purchased/serviced their scissors with us, this information includes:
- First Name (with or without a Surname)
- Best means of contact (generally a mobile number)
- Email address needed for ordering and shipping updates and invoicing
- Salon/Barbershop Name/Freelance
- Work or home address
This information is needed so that we can update our clients’ on their order/service and send or return their scissors to them. This information is freely provided by our clients, and is largely shown on the invoice. It is stored on our in-house CRM which is password protected.
Visitors to our website have had the option to use our contacts page to send us an email and/or sign up to our newsletter. This has required a name and email address for us to provide the information requested.
The information provided by our clients, website visitors and email/telephone enquirers is not shared with any other company, business, organisation or individual. We do not analyse the information given to us, nor do we engage any other company or individual to do this on our behalf.
We have an active social media presence, and do on occasion feature our clients’ testimonials and work – this is done with their express consent. We do also post images of stage work taken at industry events, and try our best to credit all those we feature.
