All Tru-Blu scissors are made by hand from Japanese Steel – the models shown are all made of Hitachi 440C for the blades, while the handles are Hitachi 304 stainless steel, a marine grade steel known for its strength and resistance to corrosion.

The Wisp has clamshell (convex) blades making this a fantastic all rounder – a great choice for bot wet and dry cutting and scissor over comb. The streamlined design and gently curved handles make this one of the most comfortable longer-bladed scissors we have come across.

The Phoenix has a double mountain blade with a sight torsional twist at the tapered tips, and hollow ground blades (similar to the cutting blade of texturising scissors). This is great for wet cutting: the geometry of the blades really lessens any pushing of the hair, making it easy to achieve a good straight line cut; and the extra rigidity of the double spine of metal gives plenty of drive for all point and chip techniques.
